Two gods, Law and Chaos, sire a child: Mandelbrat. The child is pressured by the two arguing parents to embrace their natures. The child must choose: Law, Chaos, or something else entirely.

Mandelbrat must learn to harness the advantages, and suffer the disadvantages, of their parents' qualities. Help Mandelbrat navigate puzzles and call to their parents through shrines to change states of the world.

Change a shrine's mode by throwing an artifact at it. The mode will determine properties of the shrine's surrounding environment.

WASD/arrow keys to move, P to jump, U to pick up/throw, Esc to pause.

Tile Rules

Water in Law mode will freeze. Water in Chaos mode will boil.

Plant in Law mode boards the path. Plant in Chaos mode will become thorns (+ damage).

Slime in Law mode will freeze in place. Slime in Chaos mode will become bouncy.

Install instructions

1. Download the zip (Mac download the DMG)

2. Extract

3. Run "mandelbrat.exe" (Mac run "mandelbrat.app")

MAC SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS: After opening the DMG and retrieving the .app file, right click on it and click "Open" instead of clicking on the application normally. This is because MacOS blocks unverified applications downloaded from the internet by default, and this gets around that.
